Die Messung von 8 mm für den Zündzeitpunkt , ist dies voll ausge oder der Ruhestellung ? Vielen Dank.

Is the 8mm ignition measurement for the fully advanced timing or the timing "at rest"?

Normalerweise 8mm vor dem oberen Totpunkt, also 8mm bevor der Kolben ganz oben ist. (weil dann die Zündung erfolgt).

Usually its 8mm "before top dead center". If the cylinder head is going up to the spark plug, it's 8mm before it's going down again from the top. That's the point of the ignition. If it's possible, turn the wheel in driving direction. Watch the "top dead center" point and than turn back the wheel until the cylinder head has moved this 8mm.

OK, I get that, but is the 8mm figure with the "auto-advancer" held at full advance, or in it's retarded rest position? Different bikes have different ways of setting the timing.

The 8 mm is with the "auto advancer" held at full advance. The other information from kabulos is wrong.
The 250H has no auto advancer. Later models L and SL have.

Hi, I think I have a later engine fitted in this BDG250H as it also has the neutral finder lever. Definitely has the auto-advance mechanism on it.
